We don’t evaluate applications. You can register a .eco domain just like you would any other domain name. However, before you can actively use your .eco domain, you’ll need to make a commitment to sustainability and activate a .eco profile.

We also require that you post content and use .eco in a way that is aligned with our mission and purpose. A portion of .eco websites will be evaluated for compliance with our policies. We’ll never just take down a .eco domain, but we might advise you to make changes.

If you refuse to do so, we can suspend your domain, and eventually revoke access to .eco. In practice we think this will be a rare occurrence, and the benefit to the majority of .eco users will be that the public has greater trust and confidence in .eco domain names.
